Saturday night was for Genaro Rivas and his mesmerising AW25 collection. Surprisingly, this was only the 4th collection that Genaro Rivas has debuted. Given how well his designs align with dominating 2025 trends used by other big industry names; it won’t be long before he’s an unmissable designer at London Fashion Week.

If this collection could be described in one word, it would be witchcraft. Genaro’s inspiration behind the collection was the 2015 movie ‘The Witch.’ The use of the 16th century silhouettes, and a dominating black palette emphasized the dark romanticism of witchcraft. Accentuated by the macabre style jewellery, cascading mermaid-style braids, and a streak of inky makeup, it is an unmistakeable suite of mythical designs.

Mythological and folklore inspired designs were one of the predictions for London Fashion Week and Witchcraft itself was one of the key predictions for AW25 trends. Despite London Fashion Week and the wider fashion month still ongoing, it is clear that there is already a clear pattern of future trends. With Genaro already being at the helm of catering to mainstream trends, I’m excited to see what the future has in store for Genaro Rivas.

On Friday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the POET-LAB AW25 collection. This collection truly showcased that POET-LAB is a rising star who are well and truly cementing their place in London Fashion.

Breaking away from SS25, this was very much a monochrome collection who instead relied on a variety of varying silhouettes, fabrics and textures. Many designs in the collection experimented with the use of pinstripes draped in different fashion with the most interesting one having a large turtleneck collar that could have almost been mistake for a scarf. Another standout designs that beautifully demonstrates this collections use of textures was the closing piece of a dress completely made out of dress tags.

In terms of predicted London Fashion Week trends for AW25, this collection definitely blended elements of gothic elegance with modern grunge influences. Futuristic minimalism and a use of innovative materials was also another factor at play. Very excited to see what POET-LAB’s next collection will have in store.

Arguably, Justin Cassin’s A/W 25 Collection is THE story of London Fashion Week. This collection was designed by Justin from the hospital where he has been undergoing chemotherapy for the past 12 months as he continues to battle cancer. Last night, what we were shown is Cassin’s most emotional and powerful collection to date, not just from a personal perspective but from the stories told in his designs.

When the show started it was immediately obvious that this collection differed from others. Gone were the signature bold colours, not even a sliver of the bright orange from last season could be seen. Instead, we had a palette of silver, greys, tweed brown and a sea of black. The brand of Cassin has been stripped back to its bones in order to bring us something raw.

Yet what almost every piece had on top of this base palette was a glimmer of colour, or a shimmery fabric overlayed on top of the garment. Almost as if the glimpsing fragments of colour sought to represent Cassin’s fight to keep going. Even in his darkest hour Justin brings us a powerful collection to reign in a new beginning for Justin Cassin in fashion.
